Summer is here and the faculty and staff of FISD hope all our students and families are enjoying some well-earned time off!  While students are away, we are taking the opportunity to make some improvements to our campuses.  We cannot wait to see our halls filled with students again, but in the meantime, below you can find a list of some of the projects happening this summer at FISD.

FISD would like to posthumously recognize Mr. T.L. Beard and Mrs. Ruth Tindel for their nomination and induction to the FISD Wall of Honor.  Started in 2015, the Wall of Honor recognizes members of our community for their exceptional achievement in their chosen field, exceptional community service, or outstanding contribution to the Frankston Independent School District.  

From the Texas Department of Agriculture:

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) provides food benefits to families with enrolled students (up to 21 years of age) who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals for the 2020–2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

FISD campuses will begin operating under our summer hours as of Tuesday, June 1, 2021.  Starting on June 1 FISD offices will be open Monday through Thursday from 8 to 4 each day.  All offices will be closed on Fridays throughout the summer.  

The Federal Communications Commission is instating an emergency broadband assistance program for low-income families.  The program provides discounts on internet services for qualifying families as well as assistance with purchasing a device.  For more information on who qualifies and how to apply visit the FCC’s website at

The Mighty Indian Band took to the stage Tuesday night, May 18, 2021, to perform selections from their year’s work.  For the first time, the concert was able to be viewed in person as well as online via FISD’s new live stream.  The Livestream can be viewed for the next 90 days at https://boxcast.tv/view/2021-mighty-indian-band-spring-concert-282147.
